MCP supplies Materialise in Leuven, Belgium with one of the largest vacuum casting machines ever built. The machine will produce plastic and wax prototypes up to 13 kg in weight and will accept silicone moulds with a volume of up to 2.25 m³.
Materialise is a major player in the Rapid Prototyping business, not only in Europe but also worldwide as a supplier of CAD software solutions for prototyping. As a prototype part supplier, Materialise have the capacity to produce stereolithography (SLA) models up to 2 x 1 metre in size, on one of the world's largest machines. Thenew jumbo vacuum casting machine type MCP 4/05, with a separate chamber extension, can cast and replicate the models in a whole range of thermoplastic similar materials. MCP have introduced some new and interesting prototyping materials, ideally suited to large and small component prototyping, for example 2185 and 2155.
